Edwina Issa has from the age of five had a multi- discipline existence in the Performing and Media Arts, from her initial involvement in Youth Theatres, she went on to study Dramatic Art at Durham University and Drama in Education at University of Newcastle. She worked with notable professionals such as Augusto Boal, Jacques LeCocq, RSC, Dorothy Heathcote. Serving as the VICE President of IDEA(GMC) for two terms. She previously represented RADA in Jordan and headed JBBO, staging the Amman Ballet Fest for over twenty years. She devised the Drama Strategies Guide for Cross-Curricula Teaching for the Ministry of Education Jordan, training drama teachers in nineteen governorates. In addition to this she has worked on drama for conflict resolution and empowerment in the West Bank, training arts workers in drama strategies. Edwina lectures globally and ran the Actors Studio at the RFC. 

Pioneering the introduction and implementation of GCSE, IGCSE Drama and A level Theatre Studies external examinations in Jordan, she is a qualified examiner.

Edwina has been involved in the casting of international film, has researched, and made two documentaries. Recently she has mentored actors, script writers and directors of regional productions such as ‘Huda’, ’Talavison’ and ‘Closure’, whose efforts have given a great sense of pride to her.

As well as being an arts educator, Edwina is a publisher and ran Jordan’s cultural magazine ‘Mosaic’. She is Jordan’s contributor to the International Yearbook for Research in Arts Education based on the Seoul Agenda. She heads JEFF at the RFC which is a support network for Freelancers in the Film Industry.

Edwina is married with the three daughters, she runs a Creative Project initiative, as well as heading a group of over five hundred international women in Jordan whose aim is to highlight the cultural heritage of Jordan.
