Amman, 9 March 2021 - Held under the esteemed patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal, UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, in partnership with the Royal Film Commission – Jordan, and under the joint artistic direction of Ghada Saba, movie director and TV anchor, and Yara Abu Nimeh, young reporter at Roya TV, UN Women launched the 9th edition of the Women’s Film Week to commemorate International Women’s Day (8 March) under the global theme “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”.
The Royal Film Commission - Jordan (RFC) has announced 26 cinematic and TV series projects to receive the Jordan Film Fund’s (JFF) financial support in its fifth cycle for the year 2020 with a total amount of 250,000 Jordanian dinars.
The “Cinema for All” project’s Memorandum of Understanding has been renewed for one year according to the agreement signed, in 2019, between the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) and the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
The project provides an opportunity for inmates at the Rehabilitation and Correctional Centers to watch Jordanian, Arab and international movies offering them a cultural space with various films tackling social and entertaining issues.

Three Jordanian films are participating this year at El Gouna Film Festival (GFF): the feature-length documentary “Tiny Souls” by Dina Nasser which is competing in the Feature Documentary Competition, as well as two short movies selected for the festivals’ Short Films Competition: “Freekeh” by Bassel Ghandour and “Give Up the Ghost” by Zain Duraie.
The third edition of GFF’s program, running from the 19th until the 27th of September, will showcase 80 Arab and international recent productions.
Amman, 21 July 2018 – Rawi Screenwriters’ Lab welcomed the participants of its 14th round last week. Remarkable feature-length screenplays, along with their Arab screenplay writers (Rawi Fellows), made their way to Dana Biosphere Reserve, where the ambiance couldn’t be more inspiring and motivating. The Lab also received nine established award-winning screenwriters (Creative Advisors), who arrived to Jordan from different parts of the world, eager to advise the selected Arab screenwriters.
