Georgii Tasin, 62 minutes, Drama/Silent, Ukrainian with Arabic and English subtitles, 1926, Ukraine. Based on the legend about the "Crimean Tatar Robin Hood" – Alim Aydamak which was turned into a theatrical play by a Crimean Tatar poet, director and playwright Ipchi Umer in 1925. Alim the peasant works at Ali-bey’s leather factory. In protest against inhumane working conditions, he incites workers to a riot. A group of Cossacks arrives in order to suppress the uprising. Alim and his friends flee to the mountains. The authorities send troops again against the Crimean Tatar Robin Hood whose name starts to terrify landowners, mirzas and officials. The film was featured at the Mute Nights Festival in Ukraine, in 2014
