Ramy Abdelrazek
Egyptian writer and film critic. Ramy is the director of the Arab Cinema Horizons competition at the Cairo International Film Festival and the director of the International Critics’ Week for its 39th Edition. He was also a member of the International Critics Jury at the 68th Cannes Film Festival 2015. He is a Drama Advisor at MBC TV Network and has been a film workshop lecturer for the Royal Film Commission - Jordan since 2010. He has been a member of the Egyptian Film Critics Association (EFCA) since 2007, the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESC) since 2008, and the Film Fund Committee at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture since 2011.
Nadim Tabet
Global Media Makers Fellow Nadim Tabet is a Lebanese director who directed several short films and co-founded the Lebanese Film Festival held every two years in Beirut. In 2016, he directed his first feature film, One of These Days, and he is currently preparing his new feature, Under Construction, as well as a series called Faraya.
In addition to his activity in the cinema, Nadim Tabet directs fashion videos as well as music videos for Lebanese and European bands, and he holds conferences on cinema at several universities.
Mervat Aksoy
Jordanian producer who has worked on a variety of projects, both regional and international. She began working at The Royal Film Commission in 2003, which helped develop her passion for the local film industry. Originally a graphic designer, media production and content creation felt like a natural progression to her skills and interests. She graduated from the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts in 2010 and since then has gone on to produce local film, television, and web content. Her notable projects include the award-winning narrative feature A 7 Hour Difference, part of the RFC EduFeature program, and two seasons of the Jordanian television and web comedy show Bath Bayakha. Since 2020, she has been working as a Development Producer for platforms based in the UAE.
Maya Malas
the head of development at Yalla Yalla for Front Row Filmed Entertainment in Dubai, UAE. Maya started her career in Jordan as a print journalist. She moved to London in 2003 to work in media training before focusing on development and production in 2008. She worked with mainstream TV channels, independent production companies, and media development organizations and spent many years with BBC Media Action, where she was part of the creation and production of two award-winning drama series. She has also worked on award-winning documentary shorts, feature-length films, and unscripted TV programs. She is a Londoner originating from Jordan with Syrian roots.
