The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) organized an Avant-Première of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Dune: Part Two”, from filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, on Sunday 25 February at Taj Cinemas in Amman.
The 18th edition of Rawi Screenwriters Lab wrapped up last Wednesday 29th November, with the participation of eight Arab screenplay writers (Rawi Fellows), who worked intensively on developing their promising feature-length screenplays over five days.
The second edition of the Jordan Children’s Film Festival (JCFF) kicked off last night Friday, 24th of November, organized by the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC). A big number of children and families attended the opening from around the kingdom. The festival presents daily screenings until Tuesday 28th of November at the Rainbow Theater in Jabal Amman.
27 September 2023 Amman — His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday inaugurated Olivewood Film Studios, Jordan’s first specialised studio complex for filmmaking, on the 20th anniversary of the Royal Film Commission (RFC).
King Abdullah toured the studios, which were built on an area of 47 dunums in Mugabalein area and include two sound stages with an area of 1,500 square meters each, a workshop for carpentry, ironwork, wardrobe, and graphics, as well as administrative offices, and supporting facilities and production offices.
Amman, 14 September 2023 – The Carthage Film Festival (JCC) announced the screening of a collection of Jordanian films in its 34th edition through a special section titled “Jordanian Cinema in Focus”, which celebrates the rapid development and strong international presence of Jordanian films in the past years. In collaboration with the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC), a rich program of Jordanian films was designed in addition to film-related activities that aim to showcase the advancements of the Jordanian film industry.
The Royal Film Commission - Jordan (RFC) announced, yesterday, that 15 cinematic projects were granted financial support by the Jordan Film Fund (JFF) in its Eighth cycle for the year 2023 with a total amount of Four hundred fifty thousand (450,000) Jordanian dinars, almost doubling the budget of the previous cycles.119 projects were submitted to the fund, and 93 projects were eligible, marking an increase of more than 61% compared to the previous cycle.
Amman, July 2023: the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) and Generations for Peace (GFP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance partnership, cooperation, and support for youth in filmmaking programmes. RFC Managing Director Mohannad Al-Bakri, and GFP President Dr Mohanned Arabiat signed the agreement.
Dr Mohanned Arabiat said that this agreement aligns with GFP’s mission to further develop its peacebuilding tools, including Media for Peace, its most recent addition.
